Rachel Adams

Thank you for taking time to read my story.

In 2015, I developed chronic pain in my right forearm that gradually worsened to the point where it consumed my daily life. I struggled to work daily, and doctors were recommending carpal tunnel surgery. In 2017, a friend who had been staying with me at the time, said to me, I’ve meet someone who can help you with your arm. I replied who? My friend started to tell me about a man he had meet called John, John does Bowen Therapy,  Although skeptical, I agreed to visit John and managed to get an appointment the very next day and discuss the chronic pain in my arm.

11am, I arrive for my first session. John said to me “so tell me about the pain in your arm. It’s very painful, On a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being the worst pain. It was a 10, the pain consumes my daily thoughts and every physical movement.

At about 11.15am John goes on to say he believes the pain in my arm is the result of an inner conflict I was having possibly due to me not setting boundaries in my life. John explained he believed someone close to me about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago most likely a male had taken something from me that did not belong to him, and I felt guilty, somehow I believed it was my fault for not setting better boundaries in my life.

I replied what are you talking about? I did not see the connection at this point.
I was thinking what on earth is this man talking about.

11.30am John started to talk about a resolution to the inner conflict, also give ideas to setting some important boundaries in my life. For example. If someone borrows something from you, you say yes, and I need it back by Wednesday! That way You don’t have the inner conflict feeling like you’re taken for granted. I was interested in applying these resolutions to see if it had a change in the pain I was experiencing in my arm. So right there and then. I agreed that some boundary setting had to be made. And then John said, how does your arm feel now? To be honest, I was in so much pain daily with my arm it was hard to tell if anything had changed. So, this is when we started the Bowen therapy session.

12pm,  Bowen therapy session has started and at the conclusion of the session John had me hold a heavy tool bag with my right arm. To my amazement, I could hold it even though I was still in pain. (This is something I could not have done prior to this session). John said book another session in one week and I’ll see you then. For the first time in 2 years I felt a shift in the pain in my arm, I was feeling hopeful.

It was now 1:00 PM as I stood on John’s Porch, I pulled out my phone to call my friend to pick me up. And on my phone, I notice at 12pm there was a missed call and a text message from an old friend of mine that I had not heard from in 1 1/2 to 2 years. This old friend had taken a large sum of money from me and was now ringing to tell me he wanted to pay me back.

WHAT!!!
I knocked on John’s door, told him that in the middle of my session I had received this missed call and text msg, John smiled, and said see you in a week.

I was shocked that John had predicted this inner conflict and its resolution.

Despite the improvement, the pain in my arm kept returning, so John suggested trying Hypnotherapy. John was also a Hypnotist, and after just two sessions of Hypnotherapy the pain was gone, and has never returned. I have been pain free now going on six years. And anyone who’s lived with chronic pain. Will know. When it leaves. You are at peace with your mind and body again.

This experience inspired me to learn this amazing gift and offer it to the world.

I have learned that the body and mind are connected, and that inner conflicts can manifest as physical pain. I use my experiences to teach others how to release emotional and physical pain and live healthier and happier life.

p.s. My friend paid all the money back to me.
